i have a best friend to challenge all best friends!

I have the worlds most amazing yorkie, audrey.

And my family just simply rocks!

Tonight is fried chicken and rice night. mmm haha. Nothing like fattening food, right?

life's many pleasures

Hi guys. i haven't blogged in ages but i thought i would update everything now haha.
so i got a birthday cake this past weekend and i thought i would share the pictures with you. it was for this very lovely lady, Rhonda, she was turning 60! such a lovely lady. Ended up that she matched her cake because her two favorite colors are red and orange! I had allot of fun doing it and surprisingly it turned out better than i thought it would.

The start of Delica-Ci's

Ever since i got home from the great CA I have been attempting to get my business started! I did get one order for a cake, but it sadly got cancelled. There will be more, I know it!

The very first week getting back I started my sister, Christina's, birthday cake!
That was an absolute blast. It was my very first Ciara-cake. All my own design.
The thursday before I left, i got the priviledge of staying late after work and sculpting with Lindsey Sinatra! Oh that was fun.

The finished product was a ton of abstract peacock feathers and a white chocolate clay peacock! The feathers got painted at home. My mom got to learn allot in doing that.

The fillings of the white cake were: White chocolate mousse, Raspberry mousse and Vanilla Bean Buttercream. I was so happy that it was a hit! It makes me so happy when my food makes people happy!

I will continue to attempt my hand at building business and creating deliciousness!
Ciao Bella!

Things I have laerned:
1.) There is no place like home
2.) Being welcomed home by three yorkies might possibly be the best welcome
3.) Rain is a good thing
4.) It is simply very difficult to do cakes without a turntable!
5.) Believing in yourself and having confidence is crucial!
6.) God owns my future so i don't need to worry about it, He IS all powerful
7.) Happy dances in the kitchen with your sisters..are the best dances ever
8.) Careful when using cheese graters, pay attention :)
9.) Grease stripper will give you chemical burns that last forever
10.) Running feels amazing!

FUN FACT #22: When you make tea, don't put your cream in before your tea is done steaping....the fat from the cream seals the pores or something in the tea leaves...hence why they will not continue to steap! :)

There is no place like home!

I am in Crescent City, CA waiting for my turn in the shower so we can leave. I don't know if i can explain how excited i am to get home! I really wanna hold my doggies.
Even sawyer! The 90 lb. Labrador.

Yesterday we went throught the redwoods...and got to climb a redwood tree! I know we aren't supposed to, but it was fun nonetheless! We also got to skip rocks and wade into the gorgeous river!

Pictures are going to be coming soon, i just haven't uploaded them yet!
Just thought i would update everybody what was going on, i know i haven't blogged for a while.

I'll be back in WA and settled in tonight!
Until then!

Disaster keeps striking

SO this week started out pretty odd. I just had a funny feeling about it. That something was going to go wrong. And naturally, it did. My cakes weren't going the way i wanted and all that came with THAT instance.

My second cake ended up turning out okay, after long fight with it. I officiallyl decided that I will never ever stack a cake without refrigerating it in between. Not a good idea, even if you have fruit! I promise you will have a hard time. Unless you are an awesome cake master. Then you won't have a problem. But, me not being a cake master....it makes life a little difficult!:P But after Fondant and stripes, it was pretty.

Then me and therese went on a delivery. Ahhh the delivery. It was 2 hrs. away in Temecula. We were going along fine, talking and having a good ole time watching the cake be shaky. Then...Disaster struck. We were apprx. 100 yrds. from our final destination when we almost got in an accident, so therese breaked hard. My top tier i had been holding crashed into the dashboard and then we heard a thud. THEN i heard therese hollering, oh ciara!!! several times. And i winced and looked back. There was the gorgeous artichoke cake lying on the floor of her car. All battered and sad looking.

We were horrified. Absolutely horrified. We fixed it, only because the flourist was there. And she helped us! She did such an awesome job of covering up our nasty accident.

So all of the bad things that happened this week:
1.) therese couldn't find dry ice, anywhere, her total was $13.13
2.) my cakes, neither of them, worked out!
3.) THerese shot a crumb into her eye
4.) we almost got hit
5.) i grated my thumb
6.) I burned my fingers on teh pot
there are more, i just can't remember.
Now i'm going to go eat easter dinner with family :) tootles! Happy easter!

Almost home...filming done

Hello all!

So filming finished last saturday, and now we are on to the daily grind. It will be a literal grind next week! We have about 12 caeks to fill, ice and fondant....they will probably be wedding cakes. I only know one of them. Haha.

I finished my first cake all by myself this week! It was quite awesome. I found it to be really pretty...a simple, yet elegant Tiffany Box. The lady, Nazi wanted it to be blinged out! So i got the priviledge of putting all of the rhinestones on it. haha. yea...that took a while! But it ended up to be a very gorgeous cake!

I also made a keyboard out of chocolate and chocolate fondant. It is going to go with our Steam Funk( i think) cake. It is quite a cute cake! Unfortunately I am not able to put pictures of the finished cake up. Sadly...But here is the keyboard!

Did you know that there is Gelatinous Mutant Coconut? Yea, we went to a Filipino market haha...I got to get my Ube Spread, Marjie all of her favorite childhood food and then we feasted on yumminess! :) I shall have some yummy Ube Toast tomorrow! Woot! haha

Now...I'm listening to UFC fights in the background and my cousin's Ohhhh!!!! and Oooohhh!!! and ....mannnnn..haha...so entertaining..

Things I learned today:

1.) Chris runs an asian sweatshop! haha not..haha
2.) Steaming leaves without wires sucks cause it steam burns...

good weekend :)

SO this weekend was much needed. After the long week of filming, i don't think sleeping in has ever felt better! Ahh the life of a foodie :) Aren't I right? haha.

So I ate In 'n Out on sunday. I'm not sure if i was as impressed with it. It wasn't all that people cracked it up to be. Or maybe I blew it up in my mind larger than I should have? I am not quite sure which it is, but everybody should be happy...I ate a hamburger and I have eaten In 'n Out.

Tonight I made a yummy dinner :P It was Grilled chicken, Spinach/Avocado/Tomato/Zucchini salad, Sweet potato fries and aioli. Then for dessert...Grapefruit curd with fresh blueberries and granola. Super delicious and fresh!

Things I learned today:
1.) 3D glasses are funny
2.) Believing you are strong is a hard thing, but that is what God's shoulder is for.
3.) 80* feels very nice :)

FUN FACT #21: i come home in T-minus 4 weeks!!!! I cannot explain how happy that makes me!
